Poverty alleviation being the overarching developmental goal, it can no longer be donor or government driven.  We need to  get into the “business of development” as it can no longer  be ‘business as usual’ but   ‘business unusual’ in which stakeholders would become shareholders. Ultimately,  achieving sustainability and a low-carbon  economy will not only depend on technological innovation, but will require far ranging socio-economic and environmental innovations.

In pursuance of the above, VEDA Climate Change Solutions Ltd has been established as an Enviro-Social Enterprise / Knowledge Processing Organisation (KPO)  to link grassroots with international organizations through global mechanisms such as UNFCCC for social advancement, environmental improvement and also for economic development.  

This innovative venture  would aim to generate Social Credits in addition to Carbon Credits by integrating  socio-economic and environmental benefits into the business of development for the benefit of deprived, marginalized and vulnerable sections  of the society and also the corporates. While the carbon credits i.e VERs/CERs would provide additional revenues to the farmers, the Corporates/Development agencies/ Governments  in both developed and developing countries can use these social/carbon credits to offset their carbon footprints.

We are 

• the only organization in India to cross the complete A/R CDM Project cycle upto ERPA signature.
• created as an institutional delivery mechanism as per advise of World Bank to build Indian capacity in implementing CDM projects
• responsible for delivery of carbon credits to the World Bank and carbon revenue to the farmers.
• providing  support and hand holding of farmers up to  receipt of Carbon Emission Reductions (CERs).
• focused mainly on rural and allied sectors to benefit from CDM and voluntary market mechanism outside Kyoto Protocol.
• committed  to  link rural communities to the global mechanisms   for  equitable development.
• having domain knowledge in sectors like forestry, agriculture, coastal management, agroforestry, horticulture,  bio-energy, biofuels  etc.
• experts in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Human   Resources, Social Change Management, Community development and Environment
• having strong international tie-ups with CDM companies, exchanges & experts

The VCCSL  is headed by a Board of Directors with experts and eminent persons in various fields. The Managing Director  co-ordinates all the activities   and is assisted by  professional staff and consultants.
