Mr.Appa Rao Cheepuri is a post graduate in water resources and hydraulic structures and former Director General of Water And Land Management Training And Research Institute (WALAMTARI) Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, India. He has over forty-four years of experience in India and abroad, in the field of water management including farmers’ participation in resource management.
As head of the premier institute in the field of water management, was responsible for organizing workshops / seminars, training programmes through appropriately designed training modules, to increase the professional capabilities of serving engineers, agriculture officials and farmers on various aspects related to Participatory Water Resource Management, including the construction and operation of the irrigation systems. As ChiefEngineer he dealt with matters concerning interstate water sharing, National Water Development Authority and National Water Resources Council.
He was associated with many World Bank aided Projects in different states of India, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat and Orissa and has undertaken many international assignments in NIGERIA, GUYANA and AFGHANISTAN. Till recentlyhe was in Afghanistan as a senior consultant, advising a team of engineers in preparation of pre-feasibility and feasibility study reports of a number of irrigation and hydro- power projects after reconnaissance and necessary investigations and surveys.

He is a mechanical engineer by profession with over 30 years of experience in India and aborad. He has worked both in public sector and also in private sector. His assignments include senior positions in mining, oil and natural gas, infrastructure in Nigeria where he has served for more than 15 years and has expertise in technology development, adoption, maintenance etc.
Being from rural background, he has passioon for agriculture sector, farm development and management, horticulture, processing, rural technology dissemination etc.
Dr.Lak Tewari
Director (Operations)
Dr. Lak Tewari has been associated with VCCSL since its inception. He is a Graduate with Economics, Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Chartered Accountant (Final Group 1). Hehasextensive experience of 30 years, primarily as Project Management Specialist in the development sector, apart from Management Consultancy experience with Price Waterhouse & others, for corporate and non corporate clientele. Project and Program Management (development sector), Finance, Organizational issues and Systems Development have been the key areas of work. The projects mainly related to natural resources management, afforestation, water resources conservation, soil conservation, renewable energy, livelihood promotion, setting up and strengthening of community based institutions, capacity building of all stake holders including development officials.

She is a postgraduate in English literature with a postgraduate diploma in computers. A technical writer by profession, she has been in the IT industry for the past ten years working as a writer of software manuals for several companies in the health care and pharmaceutical sectors. She is associated with Docksmith – a company which has produced software manuals for esteemed clients such as Birla soft, Spectra soft and Pentasoft to name a few.
Her interests extend to environmental issues such as reduction of pollution and global warming.She is also interested in social causes for the upliftment of the girl child through education and eradication of child labor.

Dr.Mihir Maitra
He is a community based natural resources management (NRM) professional with specialisation in watershed management. He has expeertise in Project Formulation, Result Based Project Management, Capacity Building of Implementing Organizations and Community Institutions. Performance Assessment (Evaluation) of Development Projects.
He is a Doctorate in Hydrogeology from Patna University, India and completed 5-year integrated M.Sc course in 1971 in Earth Sciences (Geology & Geophysics) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur.
He was a senior project management consultant in the India Canada Environment Facility during 1998-2007. He worked as a Senior Consultant (Water Resource) for EcoTech Services Pvt Ltd. (ETS), which is an Indian partner of Euroconsult, Netherlands and provided technical assistance in implementation of water resource development projects funded by Royal Netherlands Embassy (RNE) in India.
During 1992-95, he was with Indo German Bilateral Project - Watershed Management as Project Engineer and the responsibilities included assisting the project office in training groups of junior State Government engineers in Hydrological data collection and analysis of the same for monitoring watershed characteristics and managing two representative watershed projects implemented by State Governments in partnership with NGOs in Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.
He also worked with AFPRO (Action For Food Production) which is a non profit technical service agency supported by a consortium of international funding agencies established for production of more food in India as Head of WRD department and Team Leader for field projects implemented in various parts of the country.
Dr.T.Rajyalakshmi
She is a D.Sc., MMA from the University of Rhode Island, USA and retired as Director, Central Institute of Brackish Water Aquaculture which is an Institute of Indian Council for Agricultural Research.
She is an expert on issues related to coastal zone management in general and aquaculture in particular. He provides consultancy services to many national and international organizations and also undertakes Environment Impact Assessments for developmental projects. She was also member of the Expert Committee constituted by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
As President of Society for Integrated Coastal Area Management established to address developmental issues, provides scientific base to the developmental process. She enthusiatically pursues scientific activism and has organized a number of workshops and seminars to generate awareness among the multiple stakeholders about the issues related to participatory coastal zone management.
She brings out a quarterly newsletter "Coastal Zone News" for dissemination of knowledge on critical issues for the benefit of multiple stakeholders. She undertakes field and research projects for conservation and management of coastal resources with particular reference to mangroves and fisheries.
Dr.T.Ravishankar
He has over twenty two years of experience in forestry development and integrated biodiversity management in high forests, coastal areas and mangrove ecosystems in India and atoll islands in Maldives. This includes thirteen years experience in the application of ethnobotanical knowledge in forest management.
Experienced in assessing, planning and rehabilitation of ecosystems altered by cyclonic storms and tsunami. Strong writing and analytical skills and experience in project preparation and implementation, strategic analysis and forestry research.
Experience with FAO, SIDA, GTZ, IDRC, IPGRI, World Bank and MacArthur Foundation.
His previous assignments include working on various projects on forest and coastal biodiversity with the renowned M S Swaminthan Research Foundation.
V.Shanmukha Rao
He is a postgraduate in Botany and worked extensively with communities in the backward districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakshapatnam districts in Andhra Pradesh.
He led many programmes and projects for tribal development and organised many workshops, seminars and brainstorming sessions for rural and indigenous communities, government and nongovernmental organisations, research and management institutions. At present, he is working as the Project Manager of the BioCF Project -Imrpoving Rural Livelihoods and is inchragae of project office at Visakhapatnam.
Madhav Krishna
He is graduate in Accountancy and is responsible for following accounting procedures in conformity withe international standards.

She is a postgraduate in statistics and is incharge of data management. She has experience with NGO sector.
M.Nagarjuna Prasad
He is a postgraduate in Marine Biology from Andhra University, Waltair, India and has good understanding of issues related to coastal management in general and aquaculture in particular.

He is an Executive Trainee and takes active interest in development of project proposals. He infuses fresh thinking into organisation with his innovative ideas.
