Sriharsha Masabathula
President
Sriharsha, having been remarkably influenced by Jeffrey Sachs’s book, “The End of Poverty”, believes that poverty alleviation being the overarching Millennium Development Goal (MDG), there is a pressing need to build social enterprises which can provide social, economic and environmental benefits both locally and globally which requires integration across local, regional and global concerns. As an ambassador of the social enterprise, he is engaged in building global partnerships for a "Development Alliance" to address the two most contentious issues of our times i.e climate change and rural poverty.
He is also the "Designated Focal Point" on behalf of VCCSL for communication with the BioCarbon Fund of The World Bank for the CDM project "Improving Rural Livelihoods through Carbon Sequestration by adopting environment friendly agroforestry practices" registered with UNFCCC (Project No.4531). He brings in fresh ideas and lateral thinking into the management of VCCSL.
Sriharsha coined an innovative name “Socio-eCO2NOmix-Global”(www.socioeconomix.org) signifying mix of socio-economics excluding CO2 for the ‘Not for Profit’ enterprise promoted by VEDA Climate Change Solutions Ltd. to connect poor with international carbon markets.
